That’s A Wrap

I finished another novella today. 20,193 words, 91 pages. I didn’t mean for it to be a novella. I had hoped to end the story with no more than 7,500 words. But the damn thing just kept going. This happens a lot.

This one is a noir. At 20,000 words, it’s going to be harder finding a publisher for it. It’s still a rough draft and it needs work, but I’m not ready to start the cleanup process. I’ll probably be able to cut out a couple thousand words, but it’ll still be novella length.

The next story in the lineup will be a sports themed fiction that I’ll also try to keep under 7,500 words.
