Ties are Meant to be Broken

Both games today were close, with ties broken in the end by field goals. Earlier, the Bengals beat the Titans, 19-16. The 49ers just beat the Packers 13-10. It’s snowing Green Bay, which probably means it’s snowing here too.

Tomorrow, it’ll be the Rams and Buccaneers and Bills and Chiefs. Don’t miss the Ram-Buc game. That’s Stafford and Brady. Starts at 3PM, on NBC.

‘Twas a slow day, but I got a few pages into each project. Novel, 380 pages-76,900 words. Story, 6 pages-991 words.

I started watching a creepy series on Netflix called Archive 81. Think I’ll finish this first episode and call it a night.

Production

I can’t remember the last time I had a day this productive. Next to a bunch of other stuff I got done today, I wrote eighteen pages of fiction. Nine into the novel and nine into the short story.

I haven’t been keeping track of wordcounts, but each page is about 200 to 250 words, so I’d say I got in at least 3,600 words today, 1,800 each.

The Rams are beating the Cardinals. 31-11. 5 minutes left on the clock.

Edited to Add:
Novel-361 pages-74,049 words.
Story-17 pages-3,531 words.

Great Game

That was a great game. The Lions beat the Packers, 37-30. I have faith that this new team is going to do much better next season.

That was the last game of the regular season, so that’s it for the Lions. They finished their season with a 3-13-1.

Okay, the Rams and the 49ers are on now. I’ll have it on, but I don’t think I’m going to sit through the game. I got stuff to do.

The Rams are already in the Playoffs. I’m going to be rooting hard for them. It’s Matthew Stafford’s turn to get a Super Bowl ring.

I Got These Blues

I made a mistake
Being a cheapskate.
I should’ve bought alcohol
Before it was too late.
I hoped to end the year
On a happier note.
Instead, I got these blues.

It was shortly after Halftime
That I picked up my guitar.
I played the thing in a way
That I haven’t played in years.
McNamara’s pass was intercepted
In the endzone,
And I got these blues.

Penalties and fumbles,
The ball turned over too many times.
The Bulldogs were a brickwall
And a charging pack.
Thanks to Moody and Henning,
We got in a fieldgoal and a touchdown.
But I still got these blues.

I jammed through the game
As I watched the nightmare unfold.
They finished up with 11-34.
The Orange Bowl didn’t go
The way I had hoped.
But I love my team,
So, I got these blues.

Big Ten Championship

The Michigan Wolverines are the Big Ten Champions!

They beat Iowa 42-3. Y’all said they would choke in the Championship Game?

Jim Harbaugh is a great coach. Don’t ever again suggest in my hearing that he should be fired.

I’m proud of my team. They are the champs.

Victory!

We won! We beat the Ohio State Buckeyes! 42-27. I can go to my grave happy.

To y’all who said Harbaugh can’t win a big game, up yours! He just won the biggest game there is.

Thank you, Jim Harbaugh. Thank you, Cade McNamara, Hassan Haskins and J. J. McCarthy. Thank you, Blake Corum, Andrel Anthony, Josh Ross and all the Michigan Wolverines who gave us this victory today.
