It snowed most of the time I was out there. Wet snow. My clothes were soaked.
The Bat Shack is finally falling apart.
Made it out today. Didn’t see anything, but the doe urine I sprayed on the ground has a very strong smell. I’d be surprised if a buck doesn’t pick up that scent.
The power got knocked out at around 1:00 today, and it’s still out. My mom and dad were going to give me this generator for Christmas, but they decided to give it to me early. My dad and I got it set up today. It’s got a few things running, but not everything.
It’s still very windy and I don’t think DTE would be working on lines in this. So, I reckon the power will be out at least until tomorrow, if the wind dies down.
Though we have 25 MPH winds today and lots of rain, I had hoped to hunt. It was on a day like this that I saw the king buck while hunting a few years ago. I saw him once in person, and later my trail camera got a picture of him when I wasn’t out there. But I don’t have a way to get over there today and my dad said we have hail and lightning, so I guess it’s better that I stay in.
I’m getting together my hunting gear because I hope to hunt today. My boots, that have been at the top of the basement stairs, are full of cat food.
Last night I watched “The 12th Man” on Netflix. I thought a couple scenes were ridiculous, but I really liked the movie. It’s baseed on the true story of Jan Sigurd Baalsrud who fled the Nazis in Norway in 1943.
Thank God temperatures dropped. Firearm season starts in a few days. I’m just going to do the firearm season this year and I’m going to try hot doe piss.
It was too windy to burn today, so I bagged leaves. Each fall, my yard gets more leaves than a forest.
