The Tigers beat the Angels again. 4-0. Now I’m watching the drag race.
Yesterday, the Detroit Tigers finished their short, miserable season in last place. The Houston Astros made it to the playoffs again, but Justin Verlander won’t pitch. He’s undergoing surgery and will miss this post season and the entire 2021 season. He’s 37 and I wonder if he’ll return to baseball when he’s healed up.
So, I’m torn between whether I’ll root for the Astros or the Chicago White Sox. Guess I’ll pull for both and see how far they get. But if the Astros and the White Sox both win the ALWS, they’ll face each other in the ALDS and I’ll really be torn.
The Detroit Lions won yesterday and Team Penske’s drivers finished in 7th, 13th and 14th place for NASCAR and 1st and 7th place for IMSA.
The Tigers just won again. They swept the Pirates. They play the White Sox tomorrow.
NASCAR is on now. They’re racing in Michigan today.
Kevin Harvick wins today.
Motorsports are my thing while baseball is still out. Haven’t missed a NASCAR race since they started a few weeks ago, and last night I watched the first IndyCar race.
I just got home from Mom and Dad’s. Dad grilled ribs.
Shortly after I got there, Dad handed me this box and said he got it for me. At first, I thought it was a box of M&M’s, but then I opened it. Guess I’ve been talking a bit about my two new hobbies, collecting 1/24 scale diecast cars and watching NASCAR races.
It’s still not much of a collection yet, but now I have three cars to show. The new car is a Pontiac Grand Prix.
Maybe it was the return of NASCAR on Sunday. Yesterday I was very productive and today I’m pretty motivated. Things just feel more in place now. I always had an interest in racing, but never really followed the sport. I think that’s going to change, at least until baseball comes back.
I look forward to the next race.
The race is on. The drivers, pit crews and everyone who has a job at the track are all wearing masks and everyone is keeping their distance.
